Derek Casinghino Fitness Department Manager Derek Casinghino was born in Hartford Ct. He was raised in Western Mass. Growing up Derek played several sports including soccer, which he still plays.
Derek attended Westfield State University majoring on Exercise Science with a concentration in health and fitness. Playing college level soccer, he realized the importance of staying in peak physical condition. This is something he has never let go. Today Derek is an avid Cross fitter and competes annually in the Spartan Race series. Which is capped off by a 14 mile race in Killington Vermont (THE BEAST).

Derek believes that his desire that he puts into his own fitness goals helps when he is dealing with his clients. He likes to lead by example and shows his clients that hard work and perseverance can lead to great things.
In 2011 and 2013 he led several of his clients to compete in the same race at Killington that he did. Through their desire and Derek’s motivation they achieved the goals that they chose for themselves. Derek strives to keep himself learning new information so he not only brings cutting edge information to his workouts but he can also squash any myths that are out there in the fitness world. I have previously worked with several other trainers but prefer working out with Derek for several reasons. Firstly, he is terrific at changing up the workouts all the time so that no two work outs are the same. He brings a lot of knowledge of exercise theory such as cross fit, TRX and use of kettle bells to make the work outs varied and interesting. Secondly he is terrific at adjusting the work out based on individual ability or limitations. My group ranges from strong athletes to some folks in their 70’s yet Derek can adapt the routine to work for all of us. Finally Derek creates a very positive attitude in his work outs.
As a result we are all motivated to work hard and consistently show up. I would highly recommend Derek in any exercise setting.' - Olive Want to get in touch with Derek? Or call 617.923.2255 ext.
