Any ideas what the issue is? I've had similar issues with an Epson receipt printer and POS unit. Turned out to be - Drivers - DIP Switches For the drivers the below process is how I installed them: 1) Log on as Local Administrator. 2) Go to Printers and Faxes. Uninstall and delete any existing receipt printers. 3) Go to File – Server Properties – Drivers – Remove any existing Epson drivers.

4) Ensure the printer is plugged in and turned on. 5) Install drivers 6) Specify Serial Driver – Baud Rate: 38400 (to match printer) Data Bits: 8 Parity: None Stop Bits: 1 Flow Control: Xon/Xoff 7) Follow defaults and install the driver. Restart the computer when prompted.

8) Go to Printers and Faxes, right click on the Receipt printer and print a test page. It should print. Otherwise, open up notepad and print a test Both the Receipt printer and windows need to be running at the same baud rate. Otherwise the characters will come out gargled.

DIP switches control baud rate settings. In my case, the baud rate needed to be set to 38400. I had a look at the manual and there are a couple of references to DIP switch settings. Might be worth a look Also check the port properties under Printers and Faxes.

I had all sorts of trouble when the Epson was trying to print to the COM1 port. But when I did the fresh install of the epson drivers, it came up with an ESDPORT01 which is epsons own serial port. This might not be the case, but worth a look.:-) Good luck mate. Receipt printers are a pain in the arse at times. But once they're going they're pretty good.
